So far, 2014 has been filled with sweetness and love as I've been busy with many newborn photo sessions. What a beautiful way to start the year! With every newborn portrait I create, I am always amazed at these little beings and how different each and every baby is. This particular session was taken outdoors in January! Typically, I would not suggest doing a newborn shoot outside in the middle of winter. However, seeing as how we've had 80 degree weather here in Santa Barbara it's pretty much like summer minus the June gloom. This baby girl had to have been one of the easiest newborns I have ever photographed. She fell peacefully asleep and only woke for a few seconds here and there. What a cutie! I just love the baby rolls and those big pouty red lips... Adorable!

This sweet baby girl was born one day before the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve. What a special way to kick off 2014 with this newborn photo session! I had the joy of photographing this little peanut at just a few days old... How lucky am I! I love the way these little ones curl up into the most adorable little poses (after much bouncing, rocking, and feeding, of course)! She was so tiny and her cute little baby cheeks just melt my heart.

I am so happy for this couple and the arrival of their first baby boy! In late 2013, I had the pleasure of taking both their maternity portraits and newborn photos. It gave me great joy to see this couple's journey into parenthood and document these memories for them. What an adorable family of 3! Congrats on your perfect little guy... I had the privilege to photograph this little darling over the holiday season. This sweet baby girl was just a few days old when these newborn photos were taken... Although the house was far from quite with older two sisters running around, this little one just slept peacefully while I photographed her and her siblings. I just adore these newborn portraits and love that I got to capture such a special time for this family! I am sure they all had a wonderful Christmas with this cutie pie!

At one week old, I had the pleasure of photographing this sweet little guy and welcome him into the world. Although I had a baby boy this last February, I was still in awe of his petite little features, his wrinkly skin, and those sweet newborn baby noises. It is so easy to forget how tiny these little ones are in those first few weeks of life... I am so happy to have captured this moment in time for this sweet family! Lots of love to you all!

As I sit here trying to work, this is who I share my day with. He is awfully distracting with his big blue eyes and those kissable red lips! I just couldn't resist dropping everything to capture this adorable little guy as he was rolling around on the bed. What a happy baby he is... Always full of smiles! Words cannot describe how sweet it was to see Chance's 3 big brothers shower him with so much love! It was a beautiful morning in Santa Barbara up on the Mesa... Perfect weather for an indoor window-light photo shoot at my client's home. They had stunning floor to ceiling windows and the light filled the house so beautifully. Just gorgeous! We had hoped to do some newborn photos after Chance's birth, but the photo shoot had to be delayed a few weeks. At 3 months old, this little guy was already so strong holding his head up and giving me the most adorable expressions! What a treat!

I had the best time photographing this little guy during my annual Summer Mini Sessions last month! What a cutie!! This handsome little boy was all smiles for the camera... making my job incredibly easy. :) He had us all laughing and giggling at his adorable expressions and sweet demeanor. We had a great photo shoot in Santa Barbara under the beautiful eucalyptus trees up on the Mesa. We are so lucky to live in such a gorgeous city with the most amazing locations for outdoor family photo shoots!

The photo above has to be one of the cutest photo of my sweet little Wilder! I spent the weekend down south visiting family and of course I had to snap some photos while my mother held my little cutie pie on her lap. It was the most hilarious thing watching all of his expression unfold as I edited through the images, but this particular image is my ultimate favorite. I love this photo for so many reason... First off, the tongue is just too funny! I am not sure why he does this all the time, but I must say it is the cutest thing in the world. Secondly, the light that afternoon was amazingly gorgeous! Lastly, I love the way my mother is looking so sweetly at my baby boy... So much love for such a sweet little boy.

Welcome to the world little Tucker!! This sweet baby boy was the most amazing newborn to photograph... He just slept and slept... and slept! Since this little nugget was born about a month, I was able to photograph him on his actual due date! He was teeny tiny when he was born, but is growing fast and already over 6lbs when I got to take his newborn portraits. It was a fun shoot and I always love when parents have cute little props and ideas in mind. I just love this boat they had in their home! So perfect! It made the most adorable prop for Tucker's newborn photo shoot and the images will match their home perfectly!

Hello little Keegan Montgomery!! It was such a pleasure to meet and photograph this sweet and loving family. I just love the adorable nursery they created for their little man. So much love and creativity was put into making a special space for baby Keegan. It turned out just beautiful!

For the last couple of months, I have been extremely busy with newborn photo sessions... Must be something in the water! :) I am just loving all these sweet little babes, especially since I just had a little guy of my own back in February!! Congratulations to the Kearin Family on the arrival of their sweet little girl, Vienna Grace! What an adorable name!! Having just had a baby boy myself in February, I was very excited to go prop shopping for Vienna's newborn shoot. Little girls are so fun to shop for! Prop shopping has to be one of my favorite things about being a children's photographer... I love having an excuse to buy adorable baby things!!!

Meet Wilder Stone- Newborn Photos, Santa Barbara, CA

My sweet Wilder Stone arrived on February 12th, 2013 at 9:15am. He weighed in at 9lbs 3oz... He was one big boy! The labor was long, crazy, and intense, but isn't that how birth is supposed to be? Although I am taking maternity leave until April, I had to take some newborn pictures of my little man in his first few days of life. Even though I wanted to spend the day relaxing in bed and recover from the birth, I found the energy to put together a mini photo session so that I can always remember this special time in our lives. Wilder's big brother, Roman, is so excited to finally hold "his baby!" We all are so happy to have this amazing little being in our lives. I feel very blessed!

Happy New Year to everyone!! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season with your family and loved ones. It feels great for the holidays to wind down and jump back into what I love to do most... Newborn photos!!! It was so great to photograph Baby Aidan at just 12 days old... I love the jet black hair and his little rolls. What a cutie! It usually takes a lot of rocking, feeding, and time to get newborns to sleep for the camera; however, Aidan just nestle right down and allow me to start photographing right away. What a treat!

Welcome to the world Henry!! It was my pleasure to take little Henry's first baby portraits this past winter at 11 days old. This is such a special and exciting time in life for all parents! I am grateful to have captured these precious moments with the Heath Family. What a treat! I always love to admire newborn babies... Sweet little Alessandra had to be one of the cutest one year olds that I have photographed! Her little smile was so funny... She had me cracking up! This was a great photo shoot on an early Santa Barbara morning. As usual, the weather was beautiful and sunny out by the Stow House in Goleta. I was able to get some adorable shots of Alessandra that I just love. What a cutie pie! :)

Sweet little Jaimeson was such a pleasure to photograph earlier this fall!!! Only 10 days and just the cutest little thing. She had a head full of jet black hair and the most petite features on her adorable face. I just love photographing newborn babies... Although, it is very challenging at times, it is the most precious thing to see them all curled up for the camera. With all my newborn photo sessions, I am always amazed at how tiny these little beings are. The first few weeks go by so quickly... It's almost a blur. I am so excited when I get to capture this short moment in time for parents... It really is magical!

There are no words for how sweet little guy is! Baby Jake is so blessed to have such a loving family and I was lucky enough to photograph some of their first memories together. It was my pleasure to photograph this sweet little guy last week in their home in Santa Barbara, CA. We had a great photo shoot with Jack's big sis showering him with love... So cute to see! Oh, how I love sleeping baby portraits! It took a little time to get baby Jack all comfy and cozy, but it was time well spent! We got some beautiful newborn photos that melt my heart. This little guy did amazing and has such a calm nature to him... Isn't he adorable!
